Build a Feel-Good Content Creation Workflow

Instagram grows your business! It also drains EVERY. LAST. DROP. of creative energy when you don't have a system. Here's the step-by-step process I use to create weeks of content in one focused day, without the burnout and without the blank-doc anxiety.

My Exact Instagram Content Creation Process

Here's the honest truth about Instagram: creating quality content is one of the biggest revenue drivers in my business. And it simultaneously exhausts me in a way that almost nothing else does… especially in seasons where client work is full, capacity is lower, or I'm just a very tired mom who has given her best hours to everyone else already!

Sound familiar!?

So no, I'm not going to tell you to just post more. Or batch harder. Or find your content creation flow at 5am before the rest of the house wakes up.

What I WILL do is walk you through the exact six-step process I use to create weeks of Instagram content in one focused day — so that when it's time to post, the only thing standing between you and hitting publish is a copy-paste and a caption you already wrote.

It works for the girlies who need structure and a plan. And it works for the girlies who spiral when things get too rigid, because it leaves room to ditch the plan and follow your creative nudges.

What You'll Learn

  • Why one dedicated content creation day (with literally no calls and no client work) is the upgrade that changes everything

  • The grounding ritual I use to clear the deck before I write a single word (because you can't create quality content when your brain is also reminding you to switch the laundry)

  • Why knowing what you're promoting before you start writing is non-negotiable (and how it completely changes what you create)

  • How to go from a few high-level content pillars to a bank of 50+ specific hooks in about 20 minutes

  • The monotasking approach to writing, designing, filming, and scheduling that stops the creative whiplash

  • Why I batch two posts per week and happily leave the door open for a spontaneous third…and why that balance actually works!

Okay, but who the heck is the human behind the mic, anyway?

Hi, yes, it’s me, Samara — the one hitting record and having a lot of thoughts about business pivots, toddler toys, and spacious, money-making days.

I’ve rebuilt my business more than once, grown it to multi-six figures, and learned the hard way that strategy only works when it actually fits the human running it. And most of what ends up on here comes from that: living it, questioning it, fixing it, and then writing about it while it’s still fresh.

Looking to dig deeper? Grab The Shifts. It’s a 5-part audio series (easily consumable on dog or stroller walks) on self-trust, leadership, and building a multi-six-figure creative business without losing yourself in the process.

This is the very first episode of my new podcast — and if we're new to each other, I'm so glad you're here!

My name is Samara Bortz, and I'm a business coach who works with heart-centred entrepreneurs growing and scaling feel-good businesses. Think: businesses that allow you to do creative work you're passionate about, make a deep impact, and support a life with spaciousness, time freedom, and financial freedom.

I serve my clients inside high-level private mentorship containers and my signature course, The Heart Method.

I'm also a musician. My husband Andrew and I run an organization of youth and children's choirs here in Edmonton, Alberta. I spend my workdays at home coaching and my evenings making music with a room full of teenagers I love dearly.

And I'm a new(ish) mom. Our son Charlie was born on Christmas Eve of 2023, and navigating motherhood alongside entrepreneurship has been the most beautiful, identity-shifting, schedule-redefining journey. Rebuilding my business to truly work in 20 hours a week while showing up fully as a mom and still serving my clients at the highest level has been one of the most intentional things I've ever done.

So, why a podcast — and why now?

Two things pushed me to finally hit the record button! First, the shift from offering design as a primary service to going all-in on coaching. I realized that the deepest transformations my clients experienced — going from struggling to consistent five-figure months, from constantly chasing the next project to booked out months in advance — were happening inside coaching conversations, not design projects. Going all-in on coaching created the desire to serve my broader community more deeply, beyond what Instagram captions and email newsletters allow.

Second, I wanted to lean into using my voice. I firmly believe we should market ourselves in the way we like to consume, and I've always been most impacted by the people I learn from through their podcasts. There's something deeply personal about hearing someone's voice, building a sense of connection through it.

What to expect from the Lead With Heart Podcast

This is a weekly-ish space for actionable, strategic support as you grow and scale your business — not from a place of hustle and push, but from softness, heart, and freedom. Expect topics around Instagram content, intuitive selling, offer design, email sequences, mindset and energetics, plus guest interviews from women doing inspiring work in the heart-led entrepreneurship space.

It's going to be laid back, approachable, and a little bit imperfect. You might hear me stumble over my words or hear Charlie in the background. That's the vibe!
